The body of the yacht’s chef, Recaldo Thomas, was found floating near where the vessel came to rest at a depth of 50 metres.</p><div></div><div><div><div></div></div></div><p>Nine<span> other crew members and six passengers, including Lynch’s wife, survived by escaping on an inflatable life boat.</span></p><span><p>Divers who retrieved the bodies of the six victims on board found five of them, including Lynch, in one cabin on the left side of the yacht, which settled on its right side.</p><div><div><div></div></div></div><p>• <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/article/how-the-search-for-the-bayesian-six-unfolded-qttthwdkn"><b>How the search for the Bayesian six unfolded</b></a></p><p><a href="https://www.thetimes.com/uk/society/article/diving-for-bodies-is-our-job-but-finding-hannah-lynch-was-emotional-7s3bm5lnj">Hannah Lynch’s body</a> was the last to be found, located by divers in another cabin on the left side of the yacht. Investigators believe the position of the bodies showed the victims sought the last pockets of air on board as the vessel tilted to the right after sinking.</p><p>La Repubblica reported on Wednesday that the autopsies of four victims carried out so far appear to confirm that theory.</p><p>It said that no water was found in the lungs of Jonathan Bloomer, a banker; his wife, Judith; Chris Morvillo, a lawyer; and his wife, Neda, who were found in the cabin with Lynch.</p><div><div><div><div><div><div><img src="https://www.thetimes.com/imageserver/image/%2Fmethode%2Ftimes%2Fprod%2Fweb%2Fbin%2F7e621aa0-af2c-493c-861a-e4820f4d7ac6.jpg?crop=3072%2C1775%2C0%2C0" /></div></div></div><div><div><div><div><div>The superyacht is expected to be raised from the seabed as part of the investigation into the disaster</div><div>EPA</div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p>The remaining autopsies — on Lynch, his daughter and <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/article/he-lived-every-minute-as-he-wanted-friends-mourn-bayesian-chef-9klnm9p3b">Recaldo Thomas</a> — will be carried out on Friday, the newspaper reported.</p><div><div><div></div></div></div><p>There were no signs of injuries to the four victims examined so far, La Repubblica stated.</p><p>Survivors from the Bayesian who were picked up by crew from a nearby yacht included Charlotte Golunski, 36, who reportedly <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/article/britons-missing-yacht-capsizes-sinks-sicily-f0jqd556w">held her daughter above her head to keep her out of the water</a> while she swam to the life boat.</p><p>Prosecutors have placed the yacht’s captain, New Zealander James Cutfield, and two Britons, engineer <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/article/bayesian-yacht-crew-members-investigation-nbrfjp6hb">Tim Parker Eaton</a> and crew member Matthew Griffiths, under investigation for suspected multiple manslaughter and culpable shipwreck.</p><p>Parker Eaton has reportedly denied allegations that external doors were left open on the night of the storm, allowing water to flood the engine room.</p><p>The three men have been allowed to leave Sicily as investigators try to understand what happened in the 16 minutes between the yacht being hit by a possible “downburst” storm at 3.50am and its sinking, in 60 seconds, at 4.06am after it drifted about 400 metres from its anchorage off the Sicilian port of Porticello.</p><div><div><div></div></div></div><p>• <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/article/bayesian-shipbuilder-claims-crew-had-the-time-to-save-lives-2td22qf9f"><b>Bayesian shipbuilder claims crew had the time to save lives</b></a></p><p>Cutfield has been quoted by Italian media as telling investigators: “Griffiths came to wake me, saying there were 20 knots of wind. I checked the instruments and it was effectively true. I went out immediately and asked that everyone was advised of this because I didn’t like the situation.”</p><p>He reportedly said the yacht then tilted to 45 degrees “and stayed like that for a bit and then suddenly lurched to the right. We were catapaulted into the sea.”</p><p>Griffiths has reportedly said: “We were then able to climb back on and we tried to save those we could.” He added: “We were walking on the walls.
