In this mode the x-touch is fairly helpful but I am aware that much of the possible functionality isn't available when used like this. For example most of the buttons on the right side of the unit do nothing in this mode. So, I decided to install Mike Waddington's CSI. I've got as far as installing the dll and the help files but am now stuck, or at least uncertain.

The connection between the x-touch and my Windows 10 PC is via a USB A to B cable. I am at points 8 and 9 of "Setting up your CSI devices for the first time". My main question is in the subject line of this post, but, I have a supplementary. If the x-touch can operate in either mode (midi or OSC) which should I choose? If OSC, where do I find those port numbers? I think "IPconfig" on the PC gives this sort of info. Do I need to find three IP format addresses?

1. The PCs address (it's the PC that runs the CSI software I assume),
2. "The send port number in your host application" - where is that?
3. "CSI sends to port" receive port number in your host application" -
probably the same place as the send port is found, but, where's that?

In point 10. of the setup instructions it then says "repeat as needed for additional devices". What other devices might this be? An X- touch extension (I don't have one) or, for example, my midi keyboard/s (I have several)? What type of additional devices might I want to setup to work with CSI and why?

For context I get to do this, record and make music using Reaper, part-time and weekends, when I can, I probably have a few hundred hours experience now.
