- jôÏ38 text/markdownM´North of Chemical Valley lies a small town, a beautiful community on the shores of Lake Huron, sitting at the mouth of the river where as one Great Lake drains into the next. It's a magical place, a lake so big it looks like an ocean. It was an absolute blessing and privilege to grow up there. It was the oil pipeline that brought me here. My grandfather worked the pipeline from Alaska to Sarnia, fell in the love with the place and never left. My Dad got his education thanks to the booming industry back then and it provided very well for our family. It's important to note that for all the bad practices of the Oil Industry, there were just as many good ones. They paid very well the further you go back and donated/built a lot of for the City of Sarnia. Theaters, schools, roads, services. They use to provide their own fire hall and hospital. The further you go back the better it was. It's amazing what can happen within 3 generations. I'm blown away when I sit with my Grandfather and Father and we talk about how different things were for all of us at the age of 33.
