It doesn't diminish the attrocities of the communists in any way, but it does go a long way to explain the reactions of the communities. Christian communities worldwide did protest and educate about the attrocities committed against them by communism. I'm sure that played a large part in US political attitudes towards left wing ideology during the cold war era. The rise of leftism in Europe and later in the US is a different, but related discussion. But if you look at the story of Jews in relation to the holocaust, its easy to see why it carries more weight. For one, it was several magnitudes more devastating to the worldwide population of Jews. At no point during the rise of communism did Christians outside of the specifically impacted countries worry about the survival of the Christian community in the world. While during WW2, Jews had every reason to believe the rise of Nazism was an existential threat. Nearly a half of Jews worldwide were exterminated by it. And it wasn't clear that nazism would be defeated. For most of the war, it appeared Nazism would rule over most of Europe and Asia, where the vast majority of Jews lived. Can you imagine? An ideology with the express, explicit intention of exterminating your people, ruling over all the countries where your people reside? It's no surprise then that the Jewish community, which already was the most influential group in media, would respond the way it did with the level of anti nazi propaganda that it did.
