There was darkness—a velvety, encompassing void that wrapped around nothingness itself. But in that emptiness, a Presence hovered, an unseen force that lingered with intent just above the chaotic abyss of waters waiting to become.

The Presence was God, the Creator of everything, the Infinite. His existence extended beyond the bounds of time, yet He chose this moment, this timeless void, as the stage for His masterpiece.

And then, with a command that resonated with authority and gentleness, He spoke into the deep. "Let there be light," He declared.

Instantly, the command took form. Light emerged, unwrapping itself from the darkness like the hush of a drawn curtain revealing a first act. The glow was not harsh but softly pervasive, chasing shadows away and filling the expanse with warmth and visibility. It was the birth of illumination, the spark of understanding that would guide all of creation.

God surveyed the light, examining its nascent glow. It was good—good in the way only a divine assessment could determine. With a subtle nod of satisfaction, God separated the light, which He called Day, from the quiet, encompassing night.

Thus began the dance of time, the cycle of light and dark—a steady rhythm set to the pulse of creation itself. Evening descended, and morning arose, marking the very first day, an epoch defined by the magic of divine word becoming reality.

As God stood over His burgeoning creation, poised for what came next, the expanse was once more filled with anticipation. Each moment was full of potential, brimming with the promise of life, of order wrested from chaos.

“This is just the beginning,” God murmured, though the words were heard only by the winds and the rippling waters below. His Spirit continued to hover, watching, waiting, planning—knowing each step before it unfolded.

In this first day, God established the foundation of all truth: that light conquers darkness, and that order and beauty arise from voids. Isn't every new beginning within us a reflection of this first dawning light?

As night surrendered to another day, the world basked in light’s promise. But what of the voids and darkness within our own lives? How might we let divine light transform them, one day at a time, into something good?

Biblical Reference: Genesis 1:1-5

hv©Á°X|§å²kˆŸÄþV9__›ÙBœˆ¬
