COURAGE was based on African sounds based on my ethnicity, religion and my background. The photoshoot had to also live in the same space, so I decided to work with an all female crew to do the shoot. My idea was to celebrate my Africanism and colourful diversity by including beads, sage, flowers, proteas, Zulu cultural attire, wearing my natural hair out, and keeping the entire feel natural. In celebration of my womahood, I did the cover art for the COURAGE EP with just a head and shoulder shot. This picture represented my FIRST natural picture without a wig and heavy make-up in my professional career. I needed to to this for me as I have been stuck in a world of trying to look like other people instead of embracing who I am as a woman, a mother, an African, an Indian but mostly a young girl who had a dream to sing but got lost in the entertainment industry based on image first before anything else. I stripped it all down and I am so glad that my daughter got to be part of the entire process. Love who you are!!! IT TAKES COURAGE, BUT YOU CAN DO IT !!!
