BACK COVER ART FOR FATES WARNING ATG LIVE 2016 Painted in the summer of 2016, this image graced the cover of a live release for the historic prog metal band Fates Warning. Ioannis was asked to revisit the album artwork he had created back in 1986, creating a new version for the live performance. He began by scanning some of the original sketches he had from that period and re-worked the image, painting digitally to create a new piece. The art has come out as posters, t-shirts and limited edition prints. Now it is entering the metaverse as an animated NFT, created in partnership with electronic musician and media artist Martin Kennedy of the band ALL INDIA Radio - an historic first to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the album’s release. I had created my first international album cover and an MTV video for EPIC/COLOMBIA records, and I was now on everyone's radar. Mostly working with metal and hard rock bands, at first I worked as an illustrator making paintings and handing them in. It was late in 1986 that I started to dabble in album cover design, art direction and merchandise design, becoming a proper design studio.
