COVER ART FOR WARLORD THY KINGDOM COME This painting was done in the late fall of 1983 and was part of a comic book series that was going to be published by the French metal magazine, Metal Hurling. The deal never materialized, however record label owner Brian Slagel of Metal Blade Records asked Ioannis if he could use the art for the Los Angeles power metal band WARLORD new album. The painting was well received by the fans of the genre and is constantly referred to as one of the best examples of metal cover art. Now it is entering the metaverse as an NFT - another historic first to coincide with the 36th anniversary of the album’s release.
